'Fine' to Flourishing
Sometimes we reach a stage where we just feel stuck. We know we should be achieving so much more but don't know where to start or find the motivation to change.
Motherhood brings with it a great many changes to how we see ourselves fit in the world. It can sometimes be hard to flourish when juggling all the roles we hold, whether that be with a newborn or once your children start school and you're looking for a new challenge.
The days of a career for life are well and truly over but sometimes although we know we need a change, it's not always easy knowing exactly what change to make, or how to get there.
Adapting to Retirement
Despite spending much of our working life looking forward to retirement, suddenly finding yourself with no commitments can be a shock to the system and requires some redefining of where we stand in the wold.
Often by the time we know the changes we need to make to our health, we lack the energy and motivation to make those changes happen and need someone to help with willpower and swapping poor habits for good ones.

WHAT IS POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY COACHING?
The field of Positive Psychology seeks to understand what makes a good life. Our coaching approach uses research-based tools to help people achieve greater satisfaction and fulfillment in life. Positive Psychology has a clear focus on strengths, visions and dreams, not weaknesses and deficits – what leads people forward, not what holds them back.
Our approach is based on the PERMA theory of wellbeing. That is, in order to increase flourishing an individual needs to have Positive emotion, full Engagement, authentic Relationships, Meaning, and a sense of Achievement.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE COACHING SESSION?
Following the free 15-minute phone consultation, we should have a good idea of what you're hoping to achieve with coaching. We will most likely have you complete a number of assessments either before or during your first session in order to find out where you are at the moment and so we can measure improvements over time.
Your first full session will run for 60-90 minutes and will focus on setting goals for the things we are going to work on and working through any barriers to achieving those goals. Whilst every client is unique, we find that 6-8 sessions are usually sufficient in helping you achieve the goals you came to coaching about.
HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT TO A CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST?
Clinical Psychologists focus on the causes of problems and healing. Positive Psychology focuses on strengths with an emphasis on the development of new abilities.
You might say that Clinical Psychologists focus on taking people from -5 to 0, whereas Positive Psychologists focus on taking people from a 0 to 5.
